Martinsville High School’s JROTC program has turned students into leaders, or at least helped them achieve their full potential in life, during the past 25 years, according to retired Army Lt. Col. David King.

California Schools Cutting JROTC Programs

CONCORD, Calif.—Teachers, vice principals and librarians may all be getting pink slips as the Mt. Diablo Unified School District moves to cut its budget.

The interim superintendent for the district says in order to balance the district's $297 million budget, the school board needs to make $8.1 million in cuts.

Board members are expected to vote on recommended cuts Tuesday that would include the layoffs of 98 teachers and other credentialed employees.
